Chinese crude steel output up in Jan-Aug y-o-y
According to statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China produced around 665 million tons of crude steel in the first eight months, rising by 9.1% from the same period a year ago. In August, the total output of crude steel was about 87.3 million tons, which was up by 2.4% month on month.
Besides, China produced around 71.2 million tons of pig iron in August, increasing by 7.1% year on year. From January to August, China totally outputted about 545 million tons of pig iron, which was up by 6.9% year on year.
